What a Haas rebuild involves
A Haas rebuild follows the same documented process every spindle gets, because the process is the product. Your spindle is received, tracked by serial number, disassembled with photo documentation, and failure-analyzed. Every part is cleaned, polished, and measured in the inspection room: bearing journals, housing bores, the tool interface’s size, gage line and runout, drawbar pull force, disc springs, and the electrical checks (encoder, proximity switch, and motor windings where fitted). Crashes and tool breaks
Many Haas machines live hard lives in job shops, and crash damage is one of the most common reasons a spindle comes in. The rule is the same for a Haas as for anything else: after a crash or a broken tool, stop running the spindle; continuing will most likely add bearing damage to whatever already happened. - Milling spindle: include your tool holder with retention knob and your drawbar, so the interface and pull force are tested exactly as your machine runs them.
- Lathe spindle: those items are not needed.
